MILES NIDDRIE’S Redhead Mobile Surf School
Established in 2004, Redhead Mobile Surf School provides smaller class sizes, beginner to advanced levels. We are licensed with Surfing Australia, which oversees over 70 affiliated surf schools Australia wide. Open all year round including winter.
Don't let the cool weather stop you learning to surf, we provide warm full wetsuits and run lessons all year round. The crowds are smaller and the waves better too. Intermediate/Advanced sessions are run every week to help you improve your surfing even if you have surfed for years. Call to make a booking.

Come and learn to surf with a local surfer, Miles Niddrie, who has surfed the Newcastle area for over 25 years and has already introduced plenty of beginners to our wonderful lifestyle of surfing. I am a full-time Professional Level 2 Surf Coach and offer smaller group lessons to provide more personal surfing instruction. Groups have a student/coach ratio of up to 6:1 and 2 groups maximum. I conduct all lessons for great continuity and consistency. I am passionate about what I do and adhere to the “soul surfer” approach to surfing. The surfer having the most fun in the water is the happiest surfer not the most skilled surfer. Keep a smile on your face and enjoy your time in the water and be friendly to other surfers.
Surfing is a great lifestyle, fun and fitness at the same time. The waves are always different and it's
great to get out there and enjoy them with friends or family. Becoming a surfer takes time and practice, so getting
some help will speed up the learning curve and provide a solid platform to build on.
When choosing a surf school look at the coach/surfer ratio first, then how big the total
group can be. Remember a large group of beginners in the water at once is not always
the best learning environment. To really learn something properly a small group works the best. Being mobile also helps provide you with the best waves we can find for your ability.

Special events are held annually. The Rip Curl Girls Go Surfing Day is held every year and is a special weekend just for the girls. Check for details closer to the weekend on the homepage info box. I also offer birthday parties and pre-wedding events like bucks and hens shows. Corporate and business team building sessions are also available.
