Mark Richards (Five times Surfing World Champion), Richards Surf Shop

'Learning to surf is a skill for life and there is so much more to surfing than just standing up on a board. Just like learning to swim or snow ski correct technique is the key. Surfing is my passion and coaching surfing is my full time job. I’m there in the water for every session building your confidence and surf safety education is a big part of every lesson I conduct. So make a lifestyle choice to become a surfer and surf for the rest of your life! I have friends still surfing in their late 60’s and 70’s, surfing really is the fountain of youth and I’ll teach you to love it just as much as I do.' Miles Niddrie, surfer for over 30yrs!

'If you want a surfing lesson from someone with great knowledge & patience with a mature, absolute beginner - book in with @MilesNiddrie'

Nice comment on twitter from Mel who had a private lesson on Wed 26th March 2013. Thanks Mel!

Miles has surfed the Newcastle area for over 30 years and has introduced countless numbers of beginners to our wonderful lifestyle of surfing.

Miles conducts all lessons for great continuity and consistency. With a passion for what he does Miles adheres to the “soul surfer” approach to surfing. The surfer having the most fun in the water is the happiest surfer not the most skilled surfer.

Keep a smile on your face, enjoy your time in the water and be friendly to other surfers.

Surfing is great fun with fitness at the same time! The waves are always different and it's great to get out there and enjoy them with friends or family. Becoming a surfer takes time and practice, so getting some help will speed up the learning curve and provide a solid platform to build on.
