About the lessons
I offer a more personal learning environment and a mobile service to the best learning conditions on any given day. Learn to surf at Blacksmiths beach, Stockton beach, Newcastle to Merewether beach, Redhead beach to Catherine Hill Bay . Beaches and times will be chosen depending on the conditions and tides.
As no beach in Newcastle is “safe” all the time we may need to travel to find the right beginner wave for your lessons. It is not as simple as just going to any beach and paddling out.
Occasionally the ocean will not co-operate and we may need to re-schedule lessons due to dangerous conditions. This is part of surfing and patience is something a surfer needs at times, but this makes the good days all the more enjoyable.
Learn how to paddle, safely handle your board in the surf, stand- up techniques, turning skills, surfing conduct and local conditions and the best beaches to practice at. Surf safety instruction provided so you can identify hazards like rips, sweeps, wave types and what type of wave to look for when you are practicing.
Lessons are not limited to beginners and I can improve your surfing even if you have surfed for years. Video analysis of your surfing is available too.
Classes also include how to choose the correct equipment for your ability and I have a range of boards for you to try out before you buy.

and more advanced level - Special needs students surfing programs are also offered
All lessons include soft surfboards, wetsuits (winter or summer suits), rashvests, sunscreen and surf safety awareness instruction.
About Redhead Mobile Surf School
Established in 2004, Redhead Mobile Surf School provides smaller class sizes, for beginner to advanced levels. We are licensed with Surfing Australia, which oversees over 70 affiliated surf schools Australia wide and we're open all year round including winter.
When choosing a surf school look at the coach/surfer ratio first, then how big the total group can be. Remember a large group of beginners in the water at once is not always the best learning environment. To really learn something properly a small group works the best. Being mobile also helps provide you with the best waves we can find for your ability.
Special events are held annually. The Rip Curl Girls Go Surfing Day is held every year and is a special weekend just for the girls. Check for details closer to the weekend on the homepage info box. I also offer birthday parties and pre-wedding events like bucks and hens shows. Corporate and business team building sessions are also available.
